Susan Ogilvie Workshop, Jun. 2008 (FULL)
Two 5-day pastel landscape workshops with Susan Ogilvie are scheduled for June 2-6, 2008 and June 9-13, 2008. These workshops will take place in Hagerstown, MD, the Washington County Museum of Fine Art.
Susan Ogilvie's workshop is geared to the artist who has some experience with pastel and is interested in developing a stronger commitment to composition and content in his/her work. She encourages students to establish a more personal approach to using shape, value, and color. Students can expect to bring the necessary supplies to create their own support surfaces, i.e., Gatorfoam, pumice gel, powdered pumice, and acrylic paint. Students will draw and paint from nature and create compositions in the studio from their field studies. There will be a demo/discussion each day and students will receive guidance and attention at their individual easels. For Susan, "The creative process is about listening, letting go, and enjoying the ride."
Susan Ogilvie exhibits nationally and her work is held in many corporate and private collections. She has received numerous awards, and travels throughout the US as a juror, lecturer, and motivational workshop instructor. Susan's work has been published in several books and art magazines, most recently in "Pure Color: The Best of Pastel," from North Light Books. For more information about her, please visit Susan's website.
