Desmond O'Hagan Workshop. Posted 9/14/22
October 10-11, 2022, 9am to 4pm
Falmouth Art Center, Falmouth, Massachusetts
The theme of this 2-day oil and pastel painting workshop is painting interiors. I will teach you how to identify the shapes and values necessary to create an interior painting showing atmosphere and depth. An important focus of this workshop is to capture the unique lighting conditions in an interior scene. Along with lectures and demos, I will work individually with each participant in critiquing their art.

"Girault" Soft Pastels FOR SALE. Posted 9/10/22

FOR SALE: a set of 320 Quentin de la Tour (now branded as Girault) soft pastels were well-cared for and are contained in a wooden storage box with four trays. About forty of them are split and only about ten of them are used where they are low enough to be replaced. Here are some photos of the set, along with a sample of my mom's pastel portrait work: Photos.

This website has a good description of Girault pastels and offers a price comparison for a new set. My mom is asking for $680 for her entire set. To put you in touch with this seller, use this link: Members' Notes.
