Helpful Tips For Marketing Your Art
- Spend 20% of your time marketing your work each week.
- Use an inventory number to control to track your artwork from gallery to gallery. Also the numbering system should begin with a high number to present the work to the public as if you are not a "new" artist in the marketplace.
- Donate some time to charity. This will alert prospective buyers that you are an artist.
- Hold an open studio event in the spring and fall. The studio must be able to accommodate the visitor. Provide light refreshments and a tear sheet featuring a short bio and examples of your work. Send thank you notes to all attendees.
-Purchase mailing lists of art dealers and art consultants.
