Maryland Pastel Society

Meeting update

MPS Members,

A reminder that our next meeting is this coming Saturday, October 25, from 12:00-4:00 at the Howard County Arts Center.  As always, please bring your work for critiquing and food for sharing.

Our program will have three highlights. During the business portion we will be voting on the revised bylaws.  Since we are working under the existing bylaws, only full members will vote, but one of the changes is the ability for all members to vote. So far, I've had no comments or questions, so I'm assuming you are all in agreement with the changes.  If you have yet to look them over, you can find the revised version and an explanation of the changes on the MPS Website (www.marylandpastelsociety.com) under the Membership section.

Secondly, Bob Strohsal of Great American Artworks will be there with his new 60 piece half-stick set.  This is a great opportunity to see the colors and perhaps purchase a set.  And last, but not least, will be our first-ever paint-around!  This is sure to be a fun meeting and one you won't want to miss.

A few other reminders.  The deadline for submissions for our upcoming Members-Only show is October 31.  You can bring your entry with you to the meeting and give it to Deb!  But don't forget to include the self-address stamped envelope in the packet you bring to her (as I did!!!)  You can bring a CD and all accompanying stuff, or email the images and bring the paperwork to Deb at the meeting.

Also, I believe that there are still some openings for the Margaret Dyer workshop next March. I will bring the entry form with me and you can talk to me or Joyce Lister if you are interested.  Margaret is a wonderful teacher. A number of our members have had her workshop and loved it.

I hope that you have been able to enjoy this gorgeous fall weather.  What a gift, despite the economy!  I look forward to seeing you.
