Several reminders

MPS members,

As summer closes it's time to look to our upcoming events this fall. First is a reminder for members to get their member news to Tressa Hommel (treshommel@gmail.com) by September 18th.  She will be compiling the list and sending to Lisa Mitchell for the website and I will be including it in our printed news update that will go to those with no online access.

Secondly, we will be voting on the bylaw amendments at our October meeting. Please take a look at the revision, available on the website, and let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

Third, we have two upcoming shows that you don't want to miss out on.  Both are now fully described on the website.  The first is the Slayton House non-juried full member show in November in Columbia, MD.  To participate, you will need to print and fill out the application form located on the website (in PDF) and send the form and a $10 hanging fee to Kay Sandler.  We want two pieces per person of your choosing. We are also looking for volunteers for that show.  The deadline is Oct. 10th or whenever Kay has received 21 applications.  If you have any questions, contact Kay (kaysandler@yahoo.com/ 410-997-4729).

The second show is the juried Members-Only show at the Ratner Museum in January. This show is open to ALL members. The deadline for your digital submissions is Oct. 31.  So be sure to visit the site, print out the application form, and get busy painting!!!

The next members' meeting is Saturday Oct. 25th. Bob Strohsahl from Great American Artworks will be there so you won't want to miss it. I'll be providing more information on the meeting on our website soon.

I hope you all have a wonderful labor day weekend.
